Default Won't Pop out of reverse?

ok so every now and then the car wont pop out of reverse. it drives fine in every gear but wont come out. i will try and push it out with two hands with clutch to the floor but no use. after a hour of pushing this little handle thing the shift linkage is connected to. (the big one) it finally made some click noise and went to neutral. happened only once but wondering what could be going bad?

that was happneing to me, but in 3rd gear. it happened often, and than 2 weeks later the gear just blew up. I would go to a shop and get it checked out.

it helps if you tell us the make and model plus the year. I am GUESSING it is a Prelude? Could bet your clutch has gone bad. It could be severely worn out or be binding up inside the bell housing.
