Show me a customer car invoice from ANY shop that comes to $300 for painting the entire car and I will personally don a pink tutu and sing "It's A Small World After All" in the middle of spaghetti junction during rush hour.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.
Ill go take a pic of one AND the car he painted for that price and post it for you. Might take me a week or so because I now work in Gwinnett which means Im never on his side of town anymore.Originally Posted by xPhantomSilviax
I inserted "customer car" into that to keep from actually having to dance in a tutu on 285 in the middle of spag. junction while singing lol. By customer car I mean walk into a bodyshop owned/operated by someone you have never interacted with before, tell them you want your whole car painted.Originally Posted by slovic-fcc

hmmmm he just said painting the car and at the price id take it literal of just spraying the car. as in you do all the body work, and buy the paint and he just sprays the car. you still have to wet sand and buff it but he actually just sprays the car.Originally Posted by xPhantomSilviax
That $300 includes: scuff, tape off, seal, paint.Originally Posted by redrumracer

And please, stop spreading this ridiculous notion that it actually saves a shop ANY time when people bring their cars in "prepped" for paint.
It doesn't.
It makes it take longer, because we have to go back and fix everything you THOUGHT you knew what you were doing on, and then prep it correctly, and paint it, and listen to people say "Why is it $750? I prepped it myself!"

How do you know the products you use are compatible with the products the painter uses?Originally Posted by redrumracer
Yep. When I painted my old Dodge I had prepped the left fender a year prior so I just scuffed it and sealed the rest of the truck before paint. The paint didnt even stick to that fender... had to go back and seal it and re-shot it.Originally Posted by speedminded
Exactly, there's virtually no way a painter can guarantee his work if someone else does the prep work.Originally Posted by X-Runner
