I've seen some very nice $300 paint jobs....Maaco does a good job if you do the prep work. My dad used to manage one, sure the paint fades after a couple years but it's only $300

Patrick painted it... I don't have enough experience to paint a whole car yet... I do small things lol. That car's coming back to us (by our request) because we weren't 100% happy with it... hence the reason we're not using single stage anymore... a week to fully cure = car has to go away and come back, which sucks.

--edit-- I'm realizing that those are pics from before it was buffed all the way. I have pics of how it looked afterwards on my camera.. I'll put them up tonight.

Gotta have the equipment if you wanna play...my Integra is a single stage acrylic urethane but it was baked for a couple days

I don't like the quick dry polyurethane high volume bodyshop paint that cures in literally a matter of hours. Sure it pays the bills for a shop but as a customer I'd rather pay more for a better more durable paint job.

word to that.. when we have an actual booth instead of using the whole building as a booth we're gonna revisit our options.. but for now, base/clear is where it's at.

Shoot i painted mine in my garage, it came out nice besides the fact of the car being 2 colors. When you buy the paint make sure you got enough to do the whole car at 1 time...... thats what ive learned!!!

We got a new machine that heats the paint as you paint, the machine is like 3k .. hopefully next car we paint will come out alot nicer!!!

I've been painting my own cars in my own garage since i started this ****. You don't have to have a booth to have a slick paint job, even black. My blue car is the longest running color i've ever owned on a race or show car. I usually change the color after a maximum 2 year period mainly because race cars get all banged up.

    I use dupont.

ummm not even d1ck sucking. Matt's a good friend of mine, and I have seen quality work in his vehicles time and time again. One well built car can be chocked up to luck.. but when you consistently turn out cars that are beautifully done, then that's something beyond luck. And 10second hondas? Pshhh. Try again, this time with single digits involved.

Agreed that cheap isn't always the best.

Spent nearly $200 in just supplies (dupont) to paint a full body lip kit. That's not even considering labor. As I've learned cheaping out means you do it twice (used cheap primer)...or in my instance more than twice.

I would think 1k for a car is still cheap.

Do it right the first time unless you want to pay more in the end. That's the best advice I can give.

Yeah i normally pay about 200 for my paint materials. The color changes the prices.

I know a couple of shops in the area that can do you an all over paint job that is very decent for 1000ish dollars. Ive seen a few and they were good, vinh's body shop in hapeville did my blackroof and hood on my blue car. came out really nice.

emily doesn't suck it LOL but anyways if the op only has 300 to spend on a paintjob then macco might work. I would refer you to sprayglow first just call them and ask to see if you can get a good deal.

you can go on honda-tech and search maaco paint jobs, you'd be surprised at some of the paint jobs youll see, most of them were self prepped but can really surprise you on a budget.

I took mine to Spray glow 2 years ago. I paid like 1k and the paint job sucked! They where willing to repaint the car, but i didnt want too take it back.. I think you get 1 shot, if you cant do it the way it suppouse to be the 1st time, what says the 2nd time will be better!!!
