so is that your work?
Patrick painted it... I don't have enough experience to paint a whole car yet... I do small things lol. That car's coming back to us (by our request) because we weren't 100% happy with it... hence the reason we're not using single stage anymore... a week to fully cure = car has to go away and come back, which sucks.Quote:

wow this page went to 3 pages in 12 hours? hmmm ... thanks everyone i guess... haha well i went to the maaco in lawrenceville today and the guy bob told me it would be 300 to paint my car if i sanded it myself, he said it would be 450 if they sand it
well he would do your Ferrari for that as well. keep in mind that is ALL the work, you just bring him the car, tell him the color, and he handles the rest.(all body work is included). this is some of his work http://a732.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...e8a8b1f2b3.jpgQuote:

oh and he also free hands all of his stuff. not to mention he also can do a whole car inside and out.
Gotta have the equipment if you wanna play...my Integra is a single stage acrylic urethane but it was baked for a couple days ;)Quote:

AutoZONE FTW!
word to that.. when we have an actual booth instead of using the whole building as a booth we're gonna revisit our options.. but for now, base/clear is where it's at.Quote:

We got a new machine that heats the paint as you paint, the machine is like 3k .. hopefully next car we paint will come out alot nicer!!!

I've been painting my own cars in my own garage since i started this ****. You don't have to have a booth to have a slick paint job, even black. My blue car is the longest running color i've ever owned on a race or show car. I usually change the color after a maximum 2 year period mainly because race cars get all banged up.
I use dupont.
Using race car to describe a honda :lmfao:Quote:

Oh go cry a river... it was sarcasm from the start. Stop trying to defend your honda so much.
lmao dude... do you have ANY idea who you are talking to? Seriously... take it back and STFU... Matt/Spoolin is a GENIUS, and a cool guy to boot. Quit trying to start shizz with him.Quote:

I would think 1k for a car is still cheap.
Do it right the first time unless you want to pay more in the end. That's the best advice I can give.
Ya think, I work with them, but if it was MY car...different story.Quote:

Bwahahahaha-I almost fell out my seat. I didn't know building a 10 second Honda made you a genius. D1ck sucking at it's finest!!Quote:

emily doesn't suck it LOL but anyways if the op only has 300 to spend on a paintjob then macco might work. I would refer you to sprayglow first just call them and ask to see if you can get a good deal.
ummm not even d1ck sucking. Matt's a good friend of mine, and I have seen quality work in his vehicles time and time again. One well built car can be chocked up to luck.. but when you consistently turn out cars that are beautifully done, then that's something beyond luck. And 10second hondas? Pshhh. Try again, this time with single digits involved.Quote:

And I'll agree Stover has built some clean cars but I still won't call that genius. I'm not calling him stupid either but I haven't seen any Tony1 action or I'll even take it to a higher level and say Tim Lynch or even Boyd Coddington action-now that's GENIUS when it comes to cars.
She isnt into guys, so I doubt there is any d1ck sucking going on. Was your OP really necessary though?Quote:

There were plenty of clear runs for me to sand and buff out as well and some paint runs. I paid $1500 and was willing to pay more but I was told that they would fix it all and paint it for that price. I didnt hastle them, I just dropped it off and told them to call me when it was done. I know I should have taken it back to them to fix it but its too far for me and I just did it myself. Then on the flip side they did a great job on matt's hood and roof.
you can go on honda-tech and search maaco paint jobs, you'd be surprised at some of the paint jobs youll see, most of them were self prepped but can really surprise you on a budget.
I didn't know xPhantomSilviax was even a female?? When I said d1ck sucking I didn't mean it in a literal sense. Just saying "they" were jocking Matt.Quote:

I second being not impressed with Vinh's. I took my del Sol there, and I had MASSIVE paint runs in the clear coat, dull areas where they had tried to just "buff/sand out" paint runs, flaking paint the day I got the car home... to this day I don't know if they ACTUALLY replaced the quarter panel that they claimed to have replaced or if they just filled my old one back up with bondo... I saw the donor car, and the quarter panel was cut off on it, but when I asked them to show me my car's old quarter panel, no one could tell me where it was and then finally someone said it had already been hauled for scrap, but there was other scrap metal hanging out there. I had bugs dried into my clear coat, and an area of rust that I had asked them to patch was never patched. The engine bay looked like absolute ****, and I'm not even gonna go there on the fact that my rear bumper was held on by the incorrect screws so that it pulled itself loose on the highway driving back to Savannah. The trunk lid was only held on by two bolts when I brought it in with 4, which made for some interesting episodes of "hold down the trunk on the highway". I came and got the car on the Thursday before Nopi Nationals 2006 and literally spent the next 48 hours awake trying to fix all the things that were wrong with the car.Quote:

I just picked up my car from sprayglo in duluth. I got my maxima repainted black for $400. Keep in mind you get what you pay for, but it came out better than I expected. It is not a nice paint job by far, but my max looks a lot better than it ever did. I just wish I would've had another $300 to get the base/clear though....
I took mine to Spray glow 2 years ago. I paid like 1k and the paint job sucked! They where willing to repaint the car, but i didnt want too take it back.. I think you get 1 shot, if you cant do it the way it suppouse to be the 1st time, what says the 2nd time will be better!!!
I know you didnt mean it literally, I'm just trying to keep things civil. We dont say anything negative about anyone else, and cannot help what other people say.Quote:

I have the flaking paint from them, I was told that it was from a contaminant that they couldnt remove and the paint wound up wrinkling up. It was on a door handle and a mirror so its not hard to re-spray. I also had the trash and bugs in it. I got him to sand out a "stone" or so it looked while I was there. It wound up coming up and went beyond the base. This thread makes me want to paint it.
