Door won't shut...

Got a friend that has an Acura that the driver's door won't shut when opened. You know the "hook" on the door won't open up to latch. What's the fix to this? Thanks. Later, QD.

This happened to my old Civic once. The door had "locked" on accident so the latch had come down, preventing it from shutting. I know it sounds stupid, but did he try unlocking it?

Try unlocking it, obviously that might not work. Stick a phillips head screw driver in the opening and push the latch open while trying to unlock it. If that doesnt work, pull the panel off, see if anything has come loose.

Pick up the handle and take a screwdriver and roll the latch or "hook" around.

With some teflon lube spray and a screwdriver it shouldn't.

Could have just been a glitch in the matrix. If it does it again, you'll know that you need a door latch assy. Its probably just dry, and needs to be lubricated like someone else said. I like using the white lithium spray grease.
