are they illegal? i wouldn't see why since they're being sold at Target, but just to be sure. Any stories with the cops about it?

lol, yes they are, but cops arent gonna bother with it unless they really need to write a ticket.
I got pulled over in Forsythe County by a cop who said I swirved which was BS. Because he couldnt get me on anything he made it a point to say "Those license plate covers are illegal to use, even though its not illegal to buy them."
That was the only time a cop said something about it to me, even though I've been pulled over a couple of times.
A cop told my brother that if he saw him with it again he would write him a ticket, which would have been a breach of probation and he'd be in jail. So yea if they are a **** they will write you a ticket.
Gas is too expensive to drive hard and my insurance can't take anymore fast.

I got a ticket yesterday for it...I had it on my Z for a year and on my accord for 2 and the cops never said anything until yesterday......

^^^ yeah i have a court summons for my tag cover which you can clearly see through as well. The ticket is $135
some of those plates say on them "For off road use only" so yeah they are illegal
