Yea, I work at a body shop and could have done the work myself or had some help if needed. But i'm a lazy basterd sometimes. For the most part it is just a straight up swap. With only two things needing to be welded into place.
As far as the weight, I haven't weighed mine. But most of the swaps are weighing in around the 3300LB mark with driver(Most of the drivers are skinny ****s!) and yes the swap is worth it. Nothing like doing a awd launch with the top down and I'm only losing like .1-.5 in the quarter mile with the extra weight. So not a bad trade off for someone who likes to drive more then race.
Do you ever come to GADSM meets? Ever in conyers? If you want I'll give you a ride in it if you like.
The dude that converted it started at 6pm and had it done by 1am. That was with a couple of beer breaks thrown in. So as long as you have the parts car. It shouldn't take to long.Originally Posted by aguynamedpat
Hell, If you remember when I was looking for another DSM. Being a cheap spyder was at the top of my list. I was going to do the swap myself. But when the car came up for sale for 6K. I was like that is one hell of a deal considering most of the people who have done the swap are trying to sell there cars for like 10K+.
