    I will say from my own research that a GSR tranny is better choice because of the gearing.

    Now, if you decided that MPG is still high priority, then you could go with an LS tranny. Longer gears than the GSR to include a longer final drive. That would still be a fun Boosted LS and be able to maintain good MPG.

    MPG has less to do with RPMs and more to do with Throttle Position.

    anyways, I agree on the point of shorter gears being a pain sometimes on the daily drive, I'm constantly changing. You can, however, never leave 3rd gear while taking a corner at an intersection. It's just a different method of changing gears - for instance - where you would have to go down to second in an LS or GSR transmission in order to keep enough RPMs to make the corner; third works just fine in a B16. And yes, highway cruising is 80mph @ 4500... but with a decent exhaust (you have to pay to play) - it's not obnoxious at all until you punch it.
