    Whether it's a spring & shock combo or a true coil-over setup you want the dampening and rebound of the shock to be calibrated to the spring being used. Stock shocks aren't built to handle the stress of a stiffer spring, they simply can't keep up with it resulting in a bouncy unpredictable ride.

    I'd suggest researching the spring rates of the H&R Race, Neuspeed Race, Eibach Sportline, Suspension Techniques SpeedTech, etc. and decide how stiff a ride you want then find a suitable shock: Bilstein, Koni, etc.

    ...OR for about the same price a quality coil-over dampener that's already setup.
