Default Someone PLEASE tell me why Honda did this???

why would honda design an oil pan on the B18a motor that has two large HOLES in it so that oil could just easily fall out of the engine almost everywhere the car goes?

I mean, theres the one actual drain plug that is a bolt, why put a SECOND one in there thats made of rubber and thats really easy to fall out as well?? Its just an extreme PITA to me, because mine fell out and i cant really get anything to fit well enough back in there. I'm thinking about just taking my oilpan off and getting that second hole welded shut.......

Sounds to me like your motor had a turbo on it before you bought it and someone plugged up the oil feed line for the turbo there. Ive never seen a honda oilpain w/ more than a drain plug hole. Time to go get a new oil pan

sounds to me like u might have a rebuilt junk yard motor or used oil pan. Alot of yards will drill the pan to drain the fluids faster......they then plug them with a rubber plug
