    Default 2009 Ninja 500

-is apparently the same as it has been for the last 20+ years... I was hoping for a redesign like the ninja 250... but I guess it's not in the cards for 2009. That is, unless kawasaki forgot to tell the website designers...

I should also add that the price went up $400, which is how much the price changed on the 250R from 07 to 08... Maybe they have a trick up their sleeve

I think it would be a mistake (financially) to redesign the EX500. If both the 250 and the 500 looked as sporty as the ZX6R, then it would hurt the sales of both the 250 and the ZX6R.

There is already a fully faired, sporty looking 500cc, the Suzuki GS500. Although I do agree that the 2008 Ninja 250 looks WAY better than the GS500... the fact is that Kawasaki is already selling tons more of the new Ninja250's than Suzuki does their GS500, and it probably doesn't make sense to splinter a market they have already cornered (in less than a year!)

I think atleast a minor facelift (mainly of the rear section and seat) would be beneficial though.

damn I guess (like most salespeople at stealerships) he didn't know what the fvck he was talking about. It pisses me off when I go to look at a car and the salesperson has no clue what they are talking about. I test drove a s2000 one time about a year ago at a honda dealership and the guy told me it was a V6. I told him that it was a 4 cylinder, and he said that it was a V6 for sure, and also that it was faster than a Corvette... I lol'ed.

I agree, those are great bikes. I had one as my first bike but it was a 99 model.

I wouldn't say that. That'd be like the Suzuki GS500 cutting into the sales of the GSXR600. They are two very different bikes and people get them for completely different reasons.

Also with the 650r I think the 500 will be dropped shortly. When it comes to powerfulness Kawasaki has a lot of good different steps for you. You have the 250 then the 500 followed by the 650r then zzr600 zx6r and zx10r and finally the ZX-14. Which is pretty cool

If you knew anything about inflation (doubtful, given what you said), then you know that it is far less than 11% a year.

...and if you knew jack squat about the new Kawasaki 250, then you would also know that pretty much all dealers have sold their allotment and that these bikes are going for up to $5,000 on the west coast.

Translation: Its not inflation, dummy. It is supply and demand. Kawasaki is selling these bikes like hotcakes, so they are charging more for them next year. Duh.

Hey dumbass. Sure inflation its not 11%. Read the other thing I said dude. 3 years ago the dollar was worth more than the euro, today the euro is almost twice the value of the dollar. The brazilian real is at $1.6 dollars which is the lowest in like 7 years. Then add the fuel costs that have risen for shipping a bike made somewhere in asia and then distributed all over the united states. If they did raise their profit margin it is not by much.

If you were right (which you aren't), then all motorcycles would be seeing a similar % increase in price as the kawi 250

Guess what, idiot? They aren't. Please STFU until you know WTF you are talking about.

Way to link to an article that has absolutely nothing to do with what you said.

Yeah, WRONG. The 11% price hike is a result of them being sold out everywhere of the 2008 model

...and those are just from the first page of google results.

Please go fail horribly elsewhere. Admit you were wrong and GTFO instead of trying to back out of your earlier statement.

Your dumb ass didn't even know the price was going up for the '09s until I told you so.... someone (you) should have probably not said anything about topics they know nothing about.

I never said that you were wrong, its just that my reason is a lot more likely. The only way you would know for sure is if you worked for kawasaki. But the fact that you tell me that i am wrong shows how much brains you have.

    1. You clearly have no concept of macroeconomics. Since it sounds like you have mastered your google searching skills, go look up what happens to imports/exports when exchange rates fluctuate.

    2. MSRP prices dont meant sh-t. Dealer prices are always different. The dealerships are probably the ones taking advantage of the high demand on the ninja 250s.

You should try actually reading it next time.

your dumb ass didn't even know the price was going up for the '09s until I told you so.
I could care the **** less what the price is, im not shopping for a bike. But I can tell you prices are going up next year for just about every imported good (if the economy stays the way it is).

Admit you were wrong and GTFO instead of trying to back out of your earlier statement.
Please let me know where in this thread have I attempted to back out of my statement.

If you would like to bury yourself even deeper, feel free to keep going
