To answer your question,Yes I have built and owned multiple Boosted bikes(motorcycles not 4 wheelers) currently a 05 Turbo Busa.If you buy a kit from a major distributor such as Velocity,RCC,or NLR things go pretty smooth.It not like a lot of half assed boosted cars you see running around,you cant just throw a spring in the wastegate and hope for the best,You need to get a gear based boost controller that brings on boost gradually in each gear to a pre set level in each gear.As long as you dont get too greedy with the power and the boost curve they are very streetable,reliable and fun as hell.As far as the motor,most bikes can support much more power than they produce N/A,pistons are typically forged,and the rods and crank are usually pretty healthy as well depending on the year make and model of the machine.The main problem moost people have is with some new machines that now use Ti valves instead of stainless pieces boost levels must be kept pretty low like 4-5 PSI,other than that it's usually a good idea to drop compression via a thicker base gasket,and stronger valve springs are always good to have.Thats about it for the motor basics,there are many other things that are good to have and thats where you end up spending tons of cash but I just listed the very basics,I always over build my machines just to be safe.And unless you have one of the big boy bikes ( Busa,ZX14,ZX10,GSXR1000) you will have a tough time finding any pre fabbed kits,there are enough of us around that can build a nice clean system but they usually start at about 5k just for the turbo system and it just gets more expensive from there.But there are basic stage 1 kits out there that you can bolt on that will make respectable power and run with minimal other upgrades for around 4k.They are streetable even with big power,it's all in the tune and fuel system.But it is very easy to drop 10k on boost in a bike that cost 10k new but the fun you have with it is priceless.
