didnt find any shavings prior to this past weekend. Didnt have the old filter to cut open to see though. But I will now have to pull the motor out and see what the damage really is.

wow, thats crazy. did the oil light blink before it started knocking? where is your oil level at?

If the oil level is full, then yeah your pump must have died or gotten some trash in it.

oil level was full, and yeah, the dummy light started blinking right after the knock started.
