    Default h23a vtec

i'm swapping this in very soon and need some questions answered.
My current set uip=92 prelude si. Jdm f22b 5 spd.

    1. What kind of Ecu will i need? this engine only comes Auto so theres only ECU for auto and im going stick. i'm going to keep my old tranny(5spd) and bolt it on the h23vtec. which i think will work since all h tranny are interchangeable.

2.i know im going to need a OBDII - OBDI wiring harness conversion. will i need the OBDIIA or B??

    3. My current engine is Jdm f22b and it is direct replacement for the USDM H23 so the h23vtec will mount right on?

    Thanks for your help.

    1. So your about to swap in a H23 with Vtec, and you say the motor name came with a manual tranny... Before i go on... Search, or at least get basic knowledge.

    the EURO R did, h23a2.

Or you can get the other version which is a 2.2L: http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30019

G.C. - You can run a stock p72 on that setup, trust me on this, it will run better than the p13.

as far as i know the motor will theoretically bolt in bein the accord and prelude are sister cars i would just think that the mounts would be more to a 5th gen i would ask on preludezone.com to be sure

what? "and you say the motor name came with a manual tranny..." ......that did not make sense.
i did some research on internet but nothing came up since the motor is rare and they dont make h23a vtec with 5spd. it all comes with auto tranny. Im going to buy a long block and hook it up to my 5spd tranny thats in the car already.

you can run a p13 ecu. You can also run a chipped and socket p28 or p72 with a h22/23 vtec map.

you will not need the conversion harness because your car is already wired for vtec.

the monts you have will be fine

you need motor mounts for an 92-95 h22 prelude, you might be able to use you h23 engine harness and run vtec and oil pressure from motor to ecu. An obd1 distributor and a p13 ecu, u suggest u get a p72 or p28 so you can chip and tune. Use your tranny, flywheel, flywheels bolts and axles.

i agree with everything above and your also going to have to convert everything on the motor to OBD1 Distributor (already been said), and also intake manifold/manifold sensors. Your motor stock motor mounts should be fine except for the tranny mount... but if you use your stock tranny that should be fine as well

You can use your STOCK 92 Si harness. Idk if you changed it for the f22b but you shouldn't have. I believe you can run the auto ECU but just have a constant check engine light, the preferred route is a chipped p28/72. Your entire drivetrain will bolt up to the motor. Congrats though, you are about to have a badass setup! I/H/E and you will see 200's.

edit: i heard a stock obd i h23 dizzy works?
