Default 97 Prelude OBD Readiness Fail

I have reset the ECU and now driven 170 miles and still can't pass the OBD readiness test. I drove 120 miles last nite, failed the test this morning, drove another 50 miles, and failed again.
Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone know the drive cycle?

the ecu has to go through a certain number of cold starts, warm starts, engine idles, rpm bands, etc. there are many tests a car has to run before the readiness test can be passed. make sure you aren't just driving everywhere to put miles on the car, because that won't matter. once all of the parameter tests have been passed you will be able to pass the emmisions test.

not true some cars can be ready right after clearing them, then some takes 40 miles some days, some weeks, all depending on the car....now I have seen some emission machines have problems your car can be ready but there software is saying its not, try taken to an autozone an see if it says ready, or someone that has a code/scanner an see what that does ....best of luck Joshua

Autozone's OBD scanner sucks, it wont alert you for readiness status. Oreily Auto however does have a scanner that will alert you. Just watch the person using it, should be the first screen that pops up after the "reading" screen is gone. g/l
