    Lol. Both those statements are wrong, man. Riding a bike proficiently on the street (even if you ride like a granny like I do) requires some skills.

    Anyone can just put it in gear and motor down the highway, issues come up when you get put into weird spots

    The two main skills that you need to learn when you start are how to stop and turn/swerve the bike quickly and safely in a variety of situations.

    I agree 100% with you there. Anyone can rocket down the road at killer speeds. It's when that dog jump's out in front of you, or granny pulls out and doesn't look that you see what true skills you have. It's the same principle as driving a car. Youre not an experienced driver untill you have at least ten years of driving under your belt. That's quoted from the law enforcement hand book and not me.

    Just pretend everyone on the road wants to kill you when you're on your bike.
