I decided im gunna get a motor.but im not gunna have much money maybe around 800, and im not sure what to get.some ppl are saying just get a single cam(z6), and others are saying DOHC.im not sure.
What do you think??![]()
single cam(z6)
Dohc (b20,ls,maybe b16)depends on money
suggestions
lol...DOHC ftw
It depends on what you want. Maybe you should post up what you're trying to get out of your car.

For $800 your best bet is to get the z6 or the d15b
You aren't going to have any torque with a b16. I say for more torque go with the infamous H22 or a B20.

^^That car don't weight anything so tq isn't really a big option for that car. More tq = more wheel spin. But there's always a good equalibrium when it comes to them. I'd probably go LS if I were to ever consider buying a honda. Besides, it's cheaper too.
K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.
Did you guys keep in mind that he says he's only going to have $800.
lol
id save up a lil more if your going to swap in a b series. a ls long block and tranny for a good 1 will run u 800-1000. that would still leave u needing mounts, linkage, axles, and ecu etc...
piece together a z6 or y8 or mini me...
high comp pistons, new bearings, pumps, clutch, solid( or semi solid) mounts, vtec head, header, si tranny and youll pull stock ls and b16s 2......especially if you do a lil weight reduction in you already light chassis
I think that you should just save your money untill you can afford to do it right...
Exactly $800 is not going to cut it if you want to go B-series man.
x2....single cam for the buget buildersOriginally Posted by MistaCee
DONT get a single cam. Just get a jdm 99-00 spec b20b(around $700) they are rated at 146hp and 133torque.

or just a b16, you can find them anywhere. but i dont think it would fit or be cheap, but i would get a h22 if you could

I feel like you should do more research to make sure that you make the right decision. You're asking for opinions, which I'm sure you're going to get alot of, but at the end of the day it's all in what you can afford ex. parts, time, labor (that's if you're not doing it yourself) But really ask yourself, "How much power am I trying to make?" and take it from there.![]()

are you gonna get a full swap? or just the motor?
if you are limited on cash, hit up the z6.
i've seen good power come out from these thru the basic bolt-ons(i/h/e) and some other minor upgrades(chipped ECU, cam, etc).
if you want a lot of power, DOHC is the way to go.
really, you need to look around and see whats out there and what kind of deals you can find. like the guy above me said, you're asking for opinions, and what can you afford.
