No more than 5 one way. I drove 64 miles round-trip in my redtop everyday for a year... I can't tell you how many times the canuter valve hit the tressel rod and caused a left-handed smoke shift pattern. Keep it to about ten miles a day and heat build-up shouldn't be a problem.
