    maybe a short in the wiring or something. id swap clusters and see if it just the cluster also.

    i had a problem with my speedo in my 93 hatch. worked sometimes and sometimes it didnt but all i did was find a car in the junk yard and pull the cluster. take the cover off the front and there should be 3 screws holding the actual speed part of the cluster in just take those out and change that part. its alot cheaper than the whole cluster
