    That's big, but absurdly expensive.

    I don't think people realize how many R32's blow up in the process of being boosted. EIP tuning could never get their cars running right and blew motors and caught things on fire all the time. They were a really sketch company. So you can go HPA or a few other companies but expect to pay at least $10k just for the kit.

    Not all turbo installs have to use a prepackaged "kit". Granted fab work is expensive sometimes but I assume a turbo setup can be complied for far less than $10k.

    Heres a good one I have wanted to do for a long time...

    TDI + big turbo into a MkII. Some of the diesel guys are getting insane torque without much of a drop-off in fuel economy. And there are tons of IDI diesel MkII's out there, so you would already have the diesel tank and most of the gear you would need. Just swap in the newer TDI motor. Added bonus: no emissions Also, only a handfull of folks (by handful I mean maybe 5 or 6) have done this swap, unlike the vr6 or 1.8t swaps.
