    Default Here's a stupid n00b question. Please answer it anyways though...

    please answer this, cuz im new to Hondas....just got one yesterday. its a '90 DB integgy with a B18a1 motor in it. I was wondering, is an ''LS'' motor the same thing as a ''B'' series motor w/out vtec?

    Please dont flame or neg rep me, cuz im a n00b to Honda....

    Stroke: 89 mm (3.5 in)
    Rod Length: 137.01mm (5.394")
    Rod/Stroke Ratio: 1.54
    Programmed fuel injection
    Power: 90-91 Only: 130 bhp (97 kW) @ 6000 rpm & 111 ft·lbf (150 N·m) @ 5000 rpm
    Power: 92-93 Only: 140 bhp (100 kW) @ 6300 rpm & 117 ft·lbf (159 N·m) @ 5000 rpm
    Transmission: 90-91: S1, cable
    Transmission: 92-93: YS1, cable

    yeah when you hear someone say they have an "ls" they mean 1.8 DOHC non vtec... but there are other engines than the B18 that are DOHC non vtec B series...

    yessir, and the gsr motor in 90-93 is a 1.7 liter vtec engine

    Whenever I say LS motor, I'm talking about the B18b found in DC2 LS tegs.
