Do yourself a favor and buy the right one from the parts store. They are not that expensive in the first place and trying to rig one to work will wreak havoc on your alignment. Oh and when you install it count the number of threads showing on the old one and then make the new one the exact same. I would still recommend getting an alignment shortly after the change but this will greatly help.

Also try to get a universal puller from the parts store (rent it). Otherwise the tie rod might not want to come out easily.
