    Default B16A Swap In 91 SI Tach Problem

    Hey I-A i like to know what might be the problem with my tach. When car is fully warmed up, the tach is reading 1000 rpm on idle, and my vtec is popping at 4200 rpm and its redlining at 7800 rpm. Im runing a obd0 pr3 ecu, i was told vtec engages at 5200 and redlines 8200 on the stock pr3......which is not doing so, so let me get some ideas of what might be the problem thanks.

    I know with obd0 ecus vtec kicked in early, mine was kicking in around 4800-5000. So you could be ok.

    my buddies, crx with a b16 swap running obd0 pr3, his car idles below 1000 rpm, and his vtec engages at 5200rpm and redlines at 8200 rpm which he only takes it up to 8 gran............i tried his ecu same situations as mines.

    I thought thats where the b16 redlines at and the gsr redlines at 8200rpm not b16

    ive got teh same ecu and i redline at 8200 as well you might have a failing ecu on your hand or one that may have had some chipping done to it without your knowledge. Unscrew the cover off it and smell it if it smells burned or a burning smell comes up from it your ecu is going out

    hmmmmmm if you used his ecu and it did the same thing thats weird

    shiits weird man, but i guess ill live with it.......for get the b16...to weak for stock too me, i needa hop on a gsr.......$1200 for my whole swap
