Default Just to Clear things up for All ya people that got the "JDM" Badge on there car.

In Japan, any driver who obtains drivers license within 1 year must show this badge/emblem on their vehicles. It's called "Shosinn-sha-emblem" in Japanese. Shosinn-sha means " Beginner or Starter" Another driver must give their ways even on the busy traffic.

So basically it means that your a "newb" Driver to sum it up.

Now This is for people with experience. Usually For Seniors. We Usually call this as a Kareha. Which means Dried Leaf.

This is why the beginners get the Green Leaf Badge to symbolize there still new just like the tree's leaf thats still new and alive. the Seniors Get the Brown looking leaf to symbolize there old and experienced.

Hope this helped out some people that do have the "Jdm" Badge on there car.

so what make you an "experienced driver"? after 2-3 years, would you still rock the noob sticker or just no sticker at all?

Why do people put dumb stuff like that on their car if they dont have to? Thats like us going to Japan and seeing some dumbass with a LHD imported z28 with a Texas front license plate thinking he is USDM. Waste of time.

I always thought it was drifters that put the 'beginner' badge on their cars as a sort of mockery.

Badges are very useful in japan. You can Expect them to drive Reckless or w/e. Since its either there A beginner or a Old Head. But over here its used for Fashion for some Reason.

    im gonna agree with you...

i have a couple of JDM things on my car but i like to do my research on the things i buy.

i think anyone who throws this stuff on their cars should know what it is. i knew the new driver badge and senior leaf story when my buddy got one... i just want to understand the heritage/culture/fads of japanese cars before i throw the stuff on my car

i bet 95% of you doooods with japanese tags have no clue what the characters and numbers mean... i do... i like to be able to answer a question when someone asks me "is that real", i say "yes, it was issued in Tama, Tokyo"... idk... i just like to know what it is.

interesting info, but as for people dragging "JDM" stuff to america, thats kinda lame. if you want a JDM car, buy a real jdm car, quit trying to make fake little replicas. that annoys me more than when someone gets an integra, LS/GSR, and puts type R sh1t all over it
