i have heard talk that the rear suspension on the '88 Si is more desirable due to being a similar design to the ITR.
    Who knows?

88 si is the lightest si crx...unless you dont want a sunroof, plus your doing a b16 so the si is eazier to wire up than an hf

NOT true, you are wrong on nearly all points. 88 HF Crx is the lightest, and already has mpfi. Its the same job to wire as an SI except HF has EGR stock.

correct on what you said, last i checked a DX and HF were the same as for body weight. also dont forget if using a HF, you have to switch out the rotor spines and hubs with si or DA's in order for the use of DA axels.

1991 ftw..believe me you dont really want an 88..they dont have as much suspension pieces for the 88 because of the rear fork..

get a 91 HF model then swap the motor...make sure you upgrade the suspension (eg: control arms, shocks, springs, bushings, etc..), the '91 HF models are better looking and light. the corner lights on the 1991's are way better lookin than the older crx's in my opinion.
