Default Older FWD Corolla Hatch questions

My firend is about to inherit his dads old Toyota Corrolla Hacth i believe its a 87 or 89, bu tits the old ones that came in a variant of a FX-16 with the 4age. he wants to get into this car stuff, and the car has potential, just dont know much about them. but this isnt a Fx16 it has the old 1.6 carb still in it. I heard the S/C mr2 motors fit in these cars also..anybody know these cars well?

The carborated (sp?) engine is called the 4A-C. (I think, I just got into Toyotas)

The supercharged motor you speak of is called the 4A-GZE and I believe it will bolt in, also he may want to look into the 4A-GE 20v, which is a variant of the original 4A-GE but with 5 valves per cylinder and individual throttle bodies among other things. It's what I dream about putting in my pos.
