    Default Welding Help requested

    I have a B&M short shifter in my car. This one:

    I would like to lower the overall height of the whole thing. What I would like to do is cut out a few inches in the middle, and have the upper threaded part re-welded in place. Anyone?

    I know this will not make the short shifter a "shorter" shifter. That is not the intent here.
