Not trying to offend any Del Sol owners, but I'd stick with a Civic body of your choice over the Del Sol.

The Del Sols tend to have mystery creaks that come from body panels, especially the targa top, and if you care about interior room or any cargo carrying capacity then trust me, the Del Sol isn't the car for you.

My mom's got a 1997 and it's pretty neat and all, but I wouldn't want to drive one every day as my daily driver/project car.

If you had a daily driver and could use the Del Sol strictly as a weekend/track car than I'd say that'd be better.

Oh and also Del Sols weigh more than civic hatches believe it or not. All of the extra reinforcing/bracing needed to keep a targe top rollover safe weighs a lot more than people think.

Good luck with the hunt though - hatches particularly haven't lost value since the year 2000, seriously. Decent base models bone stock with 200K went for $2,000-$3,000 back in 2000, and they still do today. It's crazy how old people guage the market and understand the street value for cars that book value at $1,200!!!
