    Default eBay header

my stock exhaust manifold is in bad shape. rusted from hell n back, and it also has a crack. i want a header to put on, but i cant afford to buy a name-brand header. eBay has some for 50-ish bux plus shipping. just curious if anyone has one and the results.

Eh, as long as you scout around and don't treat your car like **** I think you'll be fine.

If you're just using it to replace your messed up OE header it should work fine. Just don't try to use it as part of a power build.

ebay headers work good just make sure you get a one piece header because the two piece cames with some weak bolts and the gaskets not all that great they some times leak air out and makes your car sound nasty...thats just my opinion.

they work fine,go ahead and get the black coated ones, the nice chrome ones will turn purple/browin in 2secs aftet car turns on. also like ^^ said where my 4-2 runs together that gasket blew out,so i have an exaust leak right there.but its lasted good no cracks.gaskets can be replaced.

i had a 2 piece replica header on my car when i got it and it was crap.

the o2 bung was in the wrong spot and the bolts stripped easily and the gasket broke.

just go for a one piece and you'll be alright.

and as you may know... an exhaust leak will make your exhaust sound like ass and if its bad enough it will make your car run like crap

don't do it. if u have a d-series then the 2nd oxygen sensor will not be able to plug up. i have that problem because i just got one 2 weeks ago. it messes up the fuel/air ratio for my car now. don't do it unless u dont mind not having the 2nd oxygen sensor.

You could get a bung welded in for around 15-20 dollars.

I put an OBX ebay header on my S14. It held up good while I had it. Fit perfect too.

i would just get an used name brand header in case you decide to make some hp. you can find some just as cheap as the ebay ones, and better quality. or you can wrap you stock one to hide the rust and it might even lower your underhood temp. i wrapped my dc 4-1 headers to hide the rust and i love the way the black wrap looks on them.

pluss 4-1 flows a little better than the 4-2-1

Most everybody is correct, one piece is better than two..some will have issues with O2 bungs lining up and sometimes the gaskets suck.
One thing nobody has mentioned though is with cheap headers, the metal flex pipes tend to leak and tear up over time. This will cause a nasty hiss or a whistle which gets really really annoying.

Also, if you can spend the extra 25 or 30 bucks, try and get a stainless steel or cermaic coated one instead of a "chrome polished ones." The chromy ones will rust out after a month and look like crap and tend to break faster.
