i have never had a ls/vtrec or b20/vtec but i have had freinds that have.....its a 50/50 thing. sometimes you do good other times you **** everything up. i have alot of experience with turbo cars though....9 of the 11 cars i have owned were turbo. buy a good turbo kit get tuned and enjoy your car that is faster than a ls/vtec and imho more reliable...that topic will be argued alot in this thread..reliability is a big thing.

These setups are depending on you, what kinda driving you gonna do if this is your daily just throw a B20 in there an be set no problems, with turbo its best to get a treadstone kit, install an tune, well add all that up an you got some money invested, not to mention you will have problems down the road, not ls/vtec i only no a few ppl that did this the right $$$$$$$$ way using the best parts,an tune, an its a nice daily setup as well but lot more money then B20 but more power, If this is your daily an your on a Budget, B20 but if you got lots of money an dont care, BOOST LS/Vtec FTW Later

    Put it this way

Turbo LS makes 180-200/16-180TQwhp (with a simple T3 turbo and log manifold around 7-9psi)

    LSVTEC makes 145-150whp/115TQ

    B20VTEC makes 145-150whp/125TQ

The LSVTEC an B20VTECs are you slapping a VTEC head on a stock block that was only made to rev to 7500. It wont be THAT much faster than what you have, its not THAT much cheaper.

Turbo is the way to go

whats the mileage on your LS engine right now? run a compression test and make sure your compression numbers are good...if they are goodand you arent blowing smoke right now or have any leaks, then boost it

unless you're crazy like me and boost an LS to 260

an ls vtec is nice, had a couple nice setups - loved them both, very nice in the mountain roads, not too much power for my style of driving - but not too little either, and it made the car a LOT of fun to drive.

if u REALLY read up on the setups...then you would know with a tune that it would be reliable

there are many 'testimonies' that relay to the ls turbo as reliable. ls/vtec / crvtec is as reliable as the builder who builds it

i boosted my gsr and drove it for 3.5 years 2.5years of that was tuned..then i swapped turbo set-ups and drove untuned which is really dumb. that car was just as reliable as the day i got it and it was a stock civic. if you buy good parts and knwo what you are doing a modified car can be just as realiable as a stock car.

Just boost either a b20b or an Ls, but DON'T exceed 250whp. With the b20b your gonna want to resleeve it to make big power along with some forged pistons and forged rods. With the Ls you can just add some forged pistons and forged rods. The ls/vtec and b20/vtec cost alot and arent as reliable.
    Boost under slow construction...

if you got a stock ls its easier just to turbo it at low boost and still make more power than any Frankenstein b series motor....i'm talking stock wise
