opinions on sr20's are irrelevant,
car's depreciate, however hard work and/or money well spent can produce a profitable car.
if u think it's a good investment then buy the car, if you don't, then don't....
if the car is worth the money to you....and you want the car...then buy it, if you're looking for a good car to flip....then you're looking for a "good investment." if the purchase price is right...then invest whatever you want to invest into it...and when you decide to sell it....get your investment back + your profit...and there you've just done a good investment....
back to your original question....
stock exhaust isn't gonna make the car loose power at an isolated rpm around 4000, it's just gonna restrict power throughout the whole rpm range, since the flow of the exhaust gas is restricted. however if it can't pump enough fuel to the motor when the boost is hitting hard...then yeah it'll fall on it's face. if the plugs aren't the right plugs or are gapped too wide, it'll cause a hickup under boost as well.....
next commend you said, it's a nice s14 with vlsd and 130k on it....(good investment)
then your dad's point....if you wreck it, it ain't worth ****......(the same with any car)
then your next comment about a random 1992 (s13) with 180,000 miles on ....along with the generalization that we are losers with $hitty insurance companies........
..........maybe we have ****ty insurance companies, or maybe we just don't crash our cars......
like i said, good luck,
Dave :|
