EF engine code

1988 "EF" sedan

flashes 16 & 17 ,,,and the CEL come on from time to time

but car seems to run fine and dosn't eat much gas

Fuel injector and speed sensor. Did you clear the codes?

I believe speedo cable is not connected (cuz the cluster never moves from 0mph)

and how do I reset/clear the codes?? thanks in advance

Pull the ecu/back up fuse under the dash. Leave it out for 1 minute. hat sould clear the codes.

taking the negative terminal off the battery for a minute would do the same thing yes or no????

you would have to take the positive off...
