Default Best place to paint a bumper?

Anyways, I need to find a paint to paint my bumper. Old bumper busted so I bought another bumper but the deal is, the bumper's been painted silver already. Need to paint it black.

Where's the best place I can go that will strip the silver paint off and repaint it black for me? I called a few places but they're estimating $500 JUST for the bumper!! A few people told me they've gotten full body paint jobs for only $700.

    Help please.

    Thanks.

For a bumper? ****... I would pay like 100 bucks. 50 for the can of paint. And a half hour of labor. A power sander with some different paper, wipe it down, spray it.

Thanks for all the help folks!

I don't know. $100 seems kinda like a cheap job for me. $250 sounds about right if you're talking about sanding it off, prime it, prep it, then repaint it.

$100 sounds like a mediocre machine sanded, cleaned off, then respray. The imperfections would still be there.

depends. I have the hook up at a body shop so its not half assed. but if it is a "favor" typically its a garbage job. it'll prob crack/peel off after awhile.

look lol. silver is a pretty easy color to spray.. you'll end up using 50 bucks and and hour of time to spray it.. it'll come out pretty good. paint at AAP and autozone. lol

actually Silver is not the easiet color to spray/match.. Probably the only easy color to spray is Black. There are different hue's to silver and most silvers have metallic flake in it. If the painted puts too much flake in the paint, it'll be very noticeable. My ex gf's car was silver and I could tell it was in a wreck bc the fender had WAY too much flake in it. If the original paint was not well taken care on the car the bumper wont match at all.

You're right. The prices I mentioned was a regular quoted price for customers. It doesn't include any "hook-ups" or specials

it was just an option for him if he want to save money. well i had did it before aap's spray cans, so that's somewhat why i gave him the tip. and i mention "pretty", imo. but his car is silver though.. i only had the intent to help lol!
