I'm curious about maintnence on the Triumph. I've heard Triumph is pretty bad about maintenence. But I think they have the 3cyl which would sound insane.

Plus everyone and there brother owns a "Gixxer". Not many a Triumph. However the 750 I would make an exception for because it's a well rounded bike (Good torque up there with litres but handling of a 600).

I really wish Honda made a mid-grade 700-800cc sport bike (Interceptor too big) because my next bike would be one for sure.

I guess the real question is what is the differences in the two?

I'll probably stop into ATD saturday and take a better look at the daytona. lol I think the decision was made for me last night though i like the way one of my friend responded last night her exact quote " They are both nice bikes, but the Daytona is Hot and I'm wet from just looking at it" SCORE lol

As for maintenance on triumphs, I hear mixed reviews some have told me there hell and some say it's no sweat so we'll see.

I saw an interesting post by a guy on another forum who was discussing the difference between the Japanese sport bikes and the Euro sport bikes. Which he has owned all

I believe he stated that there isn't a big difference between dependability of the bikes. But that the Euro bikes have more of a reputation because a Ducati/Triumph/Aprilla owner is more likely to take their bike in for routine maitnence compared to your average Jap4 rider.

Because if you really think about it your Ducati/Triumph riders are normally older (30s or so) males who don't want the I4 motors and have more money to spend than your average 18year old who is stuggling to make his Insurance and Bike payment. Much less pay for valve adjustments

I guess it's kind of an illusion. Because you hear so much about Ducatis and such going into shops you think there is something wrong when all they are doing is adjusting valves and changing plugs. On top of them hearing noises we all hear on our Jap bikes but don't have the money to take in and check out. Which a Ducati rider might have.

If you have money for hte bike but can't scrounge up enough to fix it if it does go bad(Because the reputation is true). Then I'd get the GSXR. But if you have spare cash to maintain the bike incase it does go bad I'd get the Daytona. I don't have the money to risk that so I have to go with the Jap4 because their reputations are solid.

Yea i've been reading about the tripple 3 and they have a pretty good reputation, also read a little survey about triumphs and only 40% out of all triumph owners had to take there triumphs in for repairs. Out of that only that 40% only 10% were serious repairs. The survey did say that maintenance is key with triumphs as they require more than most, which really isn't a big issue for me considering the amount i'll actually be riding it, rolling out in the camry durring the week lol. And the insurance and payment isn't a big deal I make enough to afford both without having to worry about every other thing even though i'm 26 and not 30+

I like the mx-3. I just sold the one in my signature, and I plan on building another one, I'm just waiting on the specific year and trim to pop up. I was planning on getting an IS300 but considering there's nothing wrong with my camry and it's paid for and gets great gas miledge and is a decent daily, I decided to skip the large car note for now, get me a toy, and pay more towards my college loans, as i dont feel like paying on them for the rest of my life Granted the smarter thing would be to skip the toys, live in poverty and pay every single dime to them, but meh i'd like to have a little fun in life

Thnx, Don't get me wrong it's hard to keep on a plan where the majority of your money is going towards bills, but i've done the whole living off ramen noodles so that i could afford buying a car part every pay check. And where i enjoyed it when i was driving the car or out with my friends, when i wasn't doing that stuff I was just miserable cause i was constantly broke and had nothing to show for the money i had made except the car. It just wasn't worth it

Going after someone's car for not being expensive enough???

My friend's Father-in-law is a multi-Millionare that owns 3 horses worth $250,000 each. And boy are they stupid and worthless(To me atleast). He has money to burn and he drives a mid90s Toyota TL100(I think that's it) with 500,000+ miles on it. Despite he could afford to buy a Ferrari and enter it into a demolition derby to suffer no change in his lifestyle.

I don't really even have a car. I have a 98 S10 that needs a new grill/headlights/door/etc from smacking a deer. I bought another cheap Grand Am that has a Torque Converter that locks down and is undrivable. And I've been borrowing my dad's truck to drive which I'm sure he wants back soon.

I had a Nissan Xterra that I loved but sold it so I can go to school. Which sadly the only thing I have now that is dependable is my 1996 CBR600 F3 that I bought as a project bike 2 months ago.

I bet those MX3 are some fun handling cars. May not be great for street racing but I'm sure a stock Daytona or GSXR(OR "Gixxer") will take care of most cars on here.

MSRP on the special edition Daytona is about 600-1k (2k on the standard) cheaper than the gsxr

plus Triumph has a deal right now if I get it before march I get 1k worth of gear, which will get me some cool triumph gear, jacket and maybe gloves, but thats just an extra perk. The Daytona is slightly higher than i expected but it still feels good, so just need that tax refund to come in

man, just go for the ducati desmosedici?? lolol its only $80k. j/k I personally like the new CBR1000RR. It has an estimated 20 more hp than the 2007 model. Weight is about the same as the 2007.

the triumph is less but its a 675cc v. 750cc, they are triumphs and aren't sold under MSRP often . you can get a new 07 750 for $9k...and i'd rather have the 07 than the 08 anyways.
