    Default giac

i just got my car flashed at euro tech a couple of days ago, with giac.(its a 03 jetta 1.8t) the car runs great but i havea lil problem. my boost surges in higher gears. it goes back and forth betwee 17 and 20 psi when WOT. then i also see it go around 15 psi or 14psi at high rpms, but i think thats normal but i dont think the surging is normal. ive heard a lil about getting a new n75 valve but brian at Euro tech said i shouldnt do it. i dont know what to do. can any one help?

my GTI 1.8t did the same thing. its common. would not worry about it.
The wastegate regulator for 1.8T motors is commonly referred to as the N75 valve. Autotech offers a direct replacement, factory upgrade for the stock 1.8T N75 valve. Known internally as the “J” valve, it literally transforms “chipped” cars by smoothing out the annoying surging that many aftermarket chips are known for.

GIAC tends to surge more than other chips, but its a small price for better performance than apr and other brands.

you should spike between 19-23psi and hold in the high teens... my car used to spike at 21psi and hold around 17psi. keep your stock n75 i would only suggest that if you are looking to run in race mode 100+ octane and if you are planning on making alot of power

trust brian dude he knows what he is talking about the helped me do my 1.8t build and it put out the highest stock turbo numbers around.

Sometimes it takes a while for the ECU to adjust to changes. Give it a little time.

As far as the N75, from what I have heard changing it out usually creates more problems then benefits.

GIAC usually has very aggressive files. My APR file is VERY smooth, but I dont think it has as much power as it would if I had gone GIAC. Its a tradeoff like Kyle said, a little rougher, but higher numbers.
