    Default h22 into ek questions

i am thinking about putting a 01 prelude engine in my 00 civic ex my question is with wireing if i use a ex harness what things should i look out for? i will use a obd1 ecu and conversion harness for tuning reasons. and i do have to pass emissions so what obd2 ecu should i use? the stock ex one? emissions and wireing are my main issue. i also looked on h/t and did not see anything involving obd2 emissions.

i sent you one back also! but the problem is all 97-01 preludes have the imobalizer in the ecu so it worth less. plus i am thinking with a ex-si ecu would get me out of wiring the egr system. what do you think?

you'll pass if you don't have a check engine light but the problem with using the si ecu is that the fuel maps are for a smaller motor and will not make the full power of the h22.... just get a obd2 gsr ecu (only know h series ecu codes) and chip it and you will be fine i know ppl in Florida running them on their 5th gen all the time... eliminating the egr is kinda tricky bc you have to fab up a plate to cover every thing or you will have a horrible idle problem here is the link to the egr eliminating plate http://92lude.com/egr_mod.htm but it will throw a code bc all obd2 cars have some sort of egr system

it will pass since your car doesnt show vin number threw the emission machine, trust me, I have done a swap in a 00 civic an ran a obd2 b16 an a 00 si ecu an it doesnt show vin now 01 an later models doo so they show the vin, now if you watch someone doing the emissions it looks like its reading the vin but its not, i have used some one elses car an typed my vin in an it passed, now i didnt do the emissions an dont recommend this but a friend of mine did as a last resort

thanks i know about the atts system problems with swaping but this does not have atts. so i should be ok with that issue. i also know a ex-si ecu will not make power it should. but i am only using this to pass emissions. I will use a chiped obd1 ecu and get tuned after i pass emissons.

you have and obd2 car and want to put an obd2 motor which is fine, but you need to find the obd2 p13 that came in the 96 prelude si vtec ( they are very rare and hard to find ). That way it will run with no problems and will pass emissions. I am not sure about running a obd2 p72, might throw cel which will prevent you from passing emissions. And obd1 ecu arent gonna pass either.
