You will want to use a RWD transmission and mount the engine front to back in the engine bay. You will need to cut and fab the bulkhead to clear the transmission and cut and fab a transmission tunnel to clear the transmission and driveshaft. I don't know what the rear section of a FWD car looks like, but you'll need to make a RWD differential and axels fit back there.
Overall, for the amount of money and effort you would put forth to do this, JUST GO BUY A RWD CAR! Not only for the above reasons but unless you have some excellent fabrication skills and reinforce everything, you will ruin the car's rigidity.
