i bought this about 2 months ago. its fun, and easy to ride.. 55 + mpg. at dealerships you will mostly find things that are, or similar to suzuki katana GSX 600.(for a cheap smaller bike ) from what ive read from peeps around here thye seem not to like them, heavy or something.... but it is full fairing if your looking for a sportier look.

i got that picture from wow motorcycles http://wowmotorcycles.com/kawasaki.asp they seem t ohave good deals, but some ppl say they are shady or something..

i only know of a few places ive went... outdoor powersports in mcdonough, and cycle specialty in fayetteville near dixiland. wow motorcycles has the biggest inventory ive seen, but im sure u can order from any dealer... also try craigslist, cycletrader ...

WOW isn't really shady, just assholes. All their bikes are overpriced and the only reason they stay afloat is cause they'll finance anything to anyone.

Also, I vote you start on a 250. My first time on my 250 I was scared as ****, just don't get one you'll get attached to, cause pretty soon you'll realize how slow it feels.

i have had my 600f2 for about 2-3 months and i don't think i ever wanna go over 600 for a street bike just because i feel so much more comfortable in the turns than i would on a bigger heavier 1000...i just plan on upgrading to a newer model year with more power than my 93

SV650, 1st gens can be found cheap, and are fantastic bikes w/ plenty of cheap replacement parts and lots of aftermarket support.

Lol i told u man it don't take long even thoe the 600cc sport bikes pack alot more hp than that ninja 500 it don't take long to run out of speed, and on top of that man i weigh in at 230 and i got the r6 uponone all the time and i am not even going to think about getting a 1k unless it will be a drag bike cause there is really no way u can grow out of a 600 sport bike

thats has nothing to do with it i am only 160 so buy what you want and dont waste your time on a 250 get a 600 you will be happy with it as long as you are smart rideing and not try to go out and ride like someone that has been rideing for 10+ years

i weight 110 and i ride a 04 r1. i handle it like easy. get a 600cc i say its a great start bike and you might love it and not have to upgrade it. and if you buy like a 250 or 500cc when you grow out of it then you have to spend more money to upgrade it. why not just buy a 600cc like most ppls do. any bikes kills man it all about the way you ride. like i say it all about the way you control it. and be caution. so no matter what cc it is.

The new Ninja 250s are pretty sweet looking. And from riding my buddy's 06 Ninja 250 I can tell you that the thing can handle like it's on rails. Think of a direction and that bike will take you there. I've heard that they might be having 250cc 4stroke road racing coming to the southeast. If so I'm going to get one for sure (Even though I'm 6' 220lbs)

    I started on a 1994 Yamaha SecaII

It only had about 60hp and weighed a good bit. It would also stay dead even with a 350z and get dusted past 100mph by a 350z. But a great bike to learn on. Got it for $1500 but you can find them cheaper if you can control your bike Fever. I couldn't.

    I finally upgraded(Sort of) to a 1996 CBR600 F3 that I bought as a project bike. I still have more to go.

But good beginner bikes would be the GS500(Which can be found for about $3k), Ninja250(And heard of the Ninja650 being good too), SV650(Though a little tourqy), and older FZ6' (Not new ones because they have R6 motors in them).

But seeing you want to start small shows you have a decent head on your shoulders.

Also if you get the Ninja 250 and decide to sell it a few months or even a few years down the road. You'll get close to what you paid for it(Providing you buy used).

Get the Ninja 250s those bitches are HOT for 250s. But also take the Basic Riders course from the GA DMV. I mean it is $250 and 3 days out of your weekend, but you will feel so much more comfortable on a bike once you finish the course. They teach as if you've never seen a bike.
