    Default Maint Reqd

ok well i have a 99 GS-R , all stock...no mods but a AEM filter on the stock piping...well today the Maint Reqd sign came on, i figured low oil...and indeed it was low on oil , put in 3 quarts....but the maintenance required sign is still on...anyone know what it could be???

i had advance auto parts check it with an OBD2 scanner but no codes...

Is it the M.I.L. light or the maintenance reminder light?

Reset the light... Or actually do some maintenance on it. Then reset the light.

It is a reminder light to change the oil. There is nothing wrong with the car.

you need to reset your maint required light. there is a button you hold down and then turn the key to the on position until it blinks and goes off. It is below you steering wheel almost under the dash

your car was 3 quarts low?!?!

DAMN the maintenance indicator get that **** checked with a quickness.

NO car should burn or leak 3 quarts in 2000 miles.
    Who knows?

if it's even burning 1 full quart in 2000 miles, something's up.

x2 its a button under the dash...if you get on your knees *no homo* and look under the dash you will see the button i believe its blue..hold it while the ignition is on and it will go off..you do this everytime you do an oil change
