I don't wanna give you misguided info, but check your spark plug seals. When was the last time you replaced those. You might have fouled your spark plugs. Change seals get new spark plugs. If that doesn't help, I think you might have a bad piston ring or bad head. These are just some suggestions. I hope someone with more knowledge chimes in.

I'm oohxchun bro. When his f22 did that, we tried changing the plugs and all seals, didn't work for long. We just decided to swap the motor out completely. A comparable swap is the f20a dohc motor or another f22a. Straight drop in. If your motor has a lot of mileage consider that option.

Just thought of another possibility. Are you positive that its oil on your plug, like liquid oil or just burnt plugs? Your symptoms of hesitation at 4k and black smoke also points to your car running rich.and a black tipped plug also indicates this. Is your check engine light on? Reason I'm asking is that this problem my lie in a bad or old o2 sensor. They usually go back after a 100k miles or so. Its good practice to replace that to keep your car running in top mpg conditions.

not being a di.ck or anything but your not gunna get a whole lot of gains out of the vtec head. your current f22a1 head flows better than that vtec head.

Lol if you think a non vtec head flows better than a vtec head.

Anyway If you have oil in the spark plug tube, you need to replace the seals, and valve cover gasket, change wires, and plugs and go from there.

then all i have to say is get the head resurfaced with some minor head work and then put it on. i never realy like the idea of drilling into my block. but i just wanted to give you some info on what your doing wasnt trying to be a di.ck cause ive had 3 cb7s and done a head swaps before.

you got to run the vtec oil line somewhere. but now i think they have a new thing where you can by like a thing that goes on with your oil filter so you dont have to or something like that. thats why i never put a vtec head on my car. thats why i did a h23 head swap at one point.

Maybe so, but putting a vtec head on a non vtec block is different from a non vtec head onto a non vtec block, like whatever210 said he did. I've always heard you had to drill in too, but maybe there is a new way to do it.

^ you need that oil pressure sensor there. vtec runs of oil levels, temp, and oil pressure. that sends signals to your ecu and your ecu tells you if your oil level is to low if something is wrong. if your motor is not warmed up then vtec wont kick in, same as oil level. if its to low or to high then it disrupts the flow and wont let vtec kick in. like if you dent a oil pan on a vtec motor it disrupts the flow and causes problems for you vtec. like i said i think they make a thing that goes on your oil filter now so you dont have to drill into the block but thats just my
