Default anybody see a problem with this? welding/ boost/evo-THEORY manifold on honda.

ok. so in my "msut have cheap turbo honda" mindset, and many www.homemadeturbo.com threads later i have pieced together a turbo kit for less than 200$

    the msot important pieces.

i acquired a evo turbo, manifold, wg, o2 housing.

the turbo is twin scroll (meaning that two exhaust ports go to one side of turbo, and two to the other, to make equal exhaust pulses and some other bs (better/ equal/faster spool)

i want to use the twin scroll system, mostly cause ch@dbee said i cant. ( we bet a dollar) ( the bet said i jsut had to use the turbo not manifold ( he said it CAN NOT be used at all..) but im going above and beyond to prove him wrong)

    here is my FIRST IDEA
take a stock honda d series manifold , and chop off the flange (ports for head) and ghetto weld to evo manifold ( i understand theat the arent the same length ect, but i had fixes for that).
    PROBLEM:
manifolds are CAST IRON and it is very hard to weld, nad even harder to get right without cracking.

WHAT I PLAN TO DO NOW:
buy a honda flange (like a shop would buy to make a turbo manifold) and also buy an evo one.
weld small pipes from the honda ports, to the evo ports, then bolt evo flange to evo manifold, and honda flange to head on car. the pipes wouldnt be more than an inch and a half long, but i have ample room in my enginge bay so its no problem anyway.
of course i will have the flanges bolted to heads as i weld the pipes to each one (to prevent warping from the heat)
the only problem i come up with so far is to make sure i have a bracket holding the manifold up, so there wont be too much pressure on any of the welds onthe small pipes.

any thing i didnt cover please ask, or any potential problems you see.

    paint mock-up

well all the pipes will be the exact same cut, welded, and all painted, so i think itll be a little more "odd" than ugly... it will look weird as **** though.

the paint mock up is ugly, ill give you that...

cutting the flange and welding wont work, most likely the runner angles are TOTALLY different between heads, and you can really manipulate cast iron.

The best thing to do is to buy a CRX HF Manifold for $10, and run a DSM T25. those work together fine.

And unless you find someone that makes a twinscroll log manifold, Chad will win$1

mike your looking at it wrong.

weirtech sells flanges for CHEAP. ill get both for around 40$
i have the piping, and my buddy has the welder and skillz.

so its more like the right amount of 20$ bills (2 of them).

lolol, what's up webb...i've had the same idea before: fabricate a "manifold conversion adapter" for a real cheap and easy turbo setup...

i did the same thing with my car and a KA24 manifold... took a 3/8" steel header flange, and a 1/2" steel 240sx header flange... welded i'd say 2" "runners" between them... then bolted the KA manifold onto that... (ghetto T3 manifold. under 140 bux)

The problem is what vtec-kid mentioned, the angle coming out of the head is goign to be a b!tch to match up... and unless you spend mad hours perfecting it... dremeling out the welds inside, and even then its just going to flow like ass hitting random angles on the other manifold all of sudden.

like a year ago I had a evo 16G... i was thinking of something similar...(but for another 4g63)... ct9agsr wouldn't sell me his stock manifold fukin ricer.

It is twin scroll... but the thing that sucks is that you can't even put a standard dsm turbine housing (ie dsm t25) or something on it.. .even though it slides on and the vclamp fits right on... and both have the same turbine side (td05H) ... the problem is that the evo turbine wheel is a TD05H-r ... LOL meaning REVERSE ROTATION BLAHAHAH... spins the other way FTL, so u cant just pop in the DSM turbine shaft/ housing lol the compressor would suck instead of blow (like your mom casey)

I bought my evo turbo for really cheap (like 150 bux) it was the 9.8 housing
after i found out it was going to be too much work, i sold it on ebay to someone in finland... who paid 120 bux extra for me to ship it to him, ended up bidding like 470... and then paid $ for shipping instantly (i thought it was one of those nigerian scammers) so yeah... i say sell it... and get a nissan t28bb or just a regular t28 you can weld the t25 flange onto the manifold with no problem
