Why use the auto tranny? Get a manual wire harness and run the engine direct-drive to the rear axle via a chain or belt. you will still need some kind of clutch. I would dis-assemble a manual tranny and use the bellhousing, input shaft and bearings and weld a gear onto the input-shaft and use the bearings to support it in the frame. Then you have a clutch to use without the weight of a tranny.
