Default NA Miata soft top help

Well, I decided to drive my Miata today, and when I pulled out of the garage it was pretty cold outside. Up goes the top, and I go to try and zip the rear window...well...the zipper actually ripped from the inner layer of the top on the driver's side, so no there's a huge tear. Is this a common thing, and is there a way to fix it without replacing the whole thing or am I screwed?

I'm pretty sure I could have it stitched back in, but I really dont want to have to take the top off. I'll snap a pic later when it's light out.

buahaha. Freelance writing buys gas and tobacco, not hardtops and glass.
