    Default main bearing question

    Im doing ls-vtec, i got the block sleeved and new internals but how to get the right clearance for the main and rod bearing.im to just use the code off the block and crank? or im to use some kinda guage plus the code....i dont know im lost its my first build.

    Plastigage or micrometer.

    plastigauge...the FSM should have the clearances. if its your first build , take it to a performance/machine shop and have them check the tolerances and clearances... word of advice

    if you use honda bearings, use the code on the block. if you use acl bearings, plastigage it. if its not in spec, have a machine shop micropolish the crank journals to match the clearance you need.
