is it possible that you have an electrical draw while the cars off? (ex. loose wires, poorly installed stereo)
i took it to auto zone and it was shooting a p1298 code.. any ideal of what this may be???

well i change the o2 sensor with one off a obd1 motor ... what if water get on the motor ...
uhh, did the connector work?Originally Posted by b18c5
yes it plug right up ... still cant find out what is wrong ... anyone with this problem before ...
where is the ELD located ....
that ob1 o2 sensor was it universal or did it already come wired and all u had to do is plug it up?
OBD1 only had a primary while the OBD2's have a primary and secondary right?
the one in the cat is the one i replaced ... i guess its the secondary ... where is the eld located ???
It's not the ELD, it's that sensor. OBD1 sensors have 2 wires, OBD2 have 4...two being for the built-in sensor heater and that connection is being read as open thus causing the code.Originally Posted by b18c5
so it the sensor that is causing all this mess ... so that is causing the battery not to charge ...
can't guarantee that but gotta start with what you do know and if that's a 2 wire O2 sensor then it can throw that code...Originally Posted by b18c5
FIRST, Check the fuse inside the car in the fuse panel for the alternator. <--that fuse being blown out will throw that code as well
ELD is located on the underside of the main fuse box under the hood
the fuse isnt blown but not reciveing any current .. and the o2 sensor have four wires ...
