A chipped/bolt on 1.8T should be around 200 hp and 260ish tq then if you want to go big turbo you can make alot of power.
which body style are you looking at the B5 or the B6. My gf has a B6 and it seems much heavier than my other friends B5 but the car is quite a bit nicer on the interior.

True.. if you use APR you will those weak numbers..
1.8T + GIAC = easy.. 215 to 220hp / 270 to 280 torque.
