A lot of machine shops don't particularly specialize in engine building.Originally Posted by Big Baller

However they've told me several times when I wanted a big bore done, that they'd do it for 150+ parts. Which isn't to bad deal, considering they'd have to bore, hone, and/or sleeve. I dont know for sure off hand.
Sure a machine shop would be good just for the clearance and such, but engine shops who do this work daily, would be my first choice. Hands down.
