I had a friend do mine for me, i have a SOHC and all the stuff to do it from Honda was like, $120 maybe, including oil and everything then its like $80 to have the head presure checked and milled. It's not hard, I watched/helped and the hardest part was keeping the rocker arms together when it was apart and then setting timing so its not bad at all. If you go to a shop its like 600+ usually.

its cheaper to do it yourself, not hard just time consuming to do it right
You only live once, maybe twice if you use the e-brake!
