Question..
My sister has a 98 ford contour se that she has been having problems with. i took a look at it and i was pulling the spark plug wires out of the head and two of them were covered in oil. i looked down in there and the spark plugs were in a pool of oil. im not sure if this is ok or bad thing for fords. can someone help? thanks. its a 2.2 DOHC if that helps.
EDIT: 2.0L DOHC

Sounds to me like you need to replace the valve cover gasket set. There are circular gaskets between the head and valve cover.
I used to have a '98 Contour with the 2.2l engine and an automatic.

do you also think it could need a new head gasket?

too much oil could flood your pistons....

ok well i just took the valve cover off of it and im pretty sure it is the valve cover gasket. im trying to keep the oil that has gotten down into the valley out of the cylinder. but it also probably needs new spark plugs. if i take out the spark plugs the oil will fall down in the cylinder. dilemma....

it has absolutely nothing to do with your head gasket! its just your valve cover gasket. and as long as its not a ton of oil it will be ok to fall into the piston because it will just burn it out, and being a ford it probably burns more in a week than that anyway
