9/8/07: Saturday Group Ride (Bikes Only)

Roll Out Time: 8:30am

Meet Location: QT off the GA400 Exit 17


Okay seems we had some great interest in the idea of a group ride this weekend. So seems Saturday is best for everyone. We will meet up at 8am and roll out around 8:30 if thats good for everyone.

I figure we will ride up to the mountains and grab lunch maybe in Helen (Someone suggested that) then ride back down so we are back around 203 at the latest if thats good.

Someone who knows the routes up there decide where is best to ride to and post up. Just make it to where we can eat and still be back down by 2:00.

I know I get about 130 miles on my tank so lets make sure the route has gas stations..lol

If coming North up the GA400 get off at exit 17 and make a right. QT is just up the street on the right.

I want to avoid 180 & 60 at all costs.. Everytime I go up there with a group someone or multiple people crash on those roads.

I say 129 to a scenic route to helen?

Works for me, Like I said I am not to comfortable up there so a nice scenic ride to Helen would be great for me Do we still meet of the GA400 then?

If you want to avoid 180 and 60, the best path is usually to go up 129, then back down RRR. If you still have some time (which you should), you can run up Alt 75 and up BB. If not, you can easily head home from Helen.

Two places to eat up there. Blairsville and Helen.

If I can go, I will. Not sure about Sat. It will be a slower ride obviously, but wear your best gear anyway.

cool should be a good ride. If we arent hitting roads that are to twisty I will proably wear jeans and a t-shirt since its supposed to be so nice out. Will help me get a good tan on these arms..LOL

Don't do that. These roads are twisty, and you need gear on them. Wear the best gear you have. Jacket is a must.

I have not been feeling well today. If I can make it in the morning I will. Not sure right now.

I'm pissed... I go to my parents house to use the pressure washer to clean my chain and to also clean my bike for the Sat ride. I get back home and apply to chain lube on and when I rolled my bike forward that bitch was showing WIRE in the middle of it , so I can get a tire put on tomorrow, but you guys would be long gone and it's a long ride from Hampton to 400. So I'm gonna have to catch up with you'll later on another weekend ride...

I remember when she made them for a Varsity meet, and there was a HUGE turn out from the IA crowd, lol. I'm pretty sure if you get her to bake some cookies for this shit, it'll be packed with people that don't even have bikes, lol.
